A Safe Place to Learn
Established in 2023 through the efforts of volunteer Logan, our library provides a safe and welcoming space where students can learn during and beyond school hours. Through our partnership with Shree Malika Basic School in Ward 4, a former classroom was transformed into a carpeted, child-friendly library for students and the wider community.

Books, Materials, and Daily Learning
The library houses Nepali and English books ranging from beginning readers to young adult levels, as well as educational games and learning materials. Open every day during the school year, it gives students regular access to books, study space, and literacy-rich activities that support both academic growth and personal development.

Local Leadership in Literacy
Since 2025, our librarian, Juwara Shahi, has led literacy-centered activities for approximately 140 students through read-alouds, guided learning, and daily library engagement. As a local community member and educational professional, she helps students strengthen their literacy skills while encouraging curiosity, confidence, and a love of reading.

A Place to be a Child
In our village, many children and youth help with household responsibilities and farm work from an early age. The library offers something different: a place to read, relax, and simply be children with their friends. It is not only a place for study, but also a space for comfort, imagination, and community.

Supporting Youth in Rural Nepal
Serving youth from ages 3 to 20, the library reflects our commitment to creating sustainable, positive change for children and youth in rural Nepal. By providing access to books, supportive mentorship, and a welcoming environment, the library helps open new possibilities for learning and growth.
