Empowering Women Through Sustainable Opportunity
Our Women’s Center creates opportunities for women in rural Nepal through literacy education, sewing training, and microfinance support. Led by a dedicated local coordinator and strengthened by a committed women’s committee, the center helps women build skills, confidence, and pathways toward greater independence.

Empowering Women One Stitch at a Time
Under the leadership of Women’s Center Director Dhankumari Shahi, our Women’s Center offers a range of programs designed to support women in our community. Since its creation, the center has provided daily beginner and advanced sewing classes. Through these courses, women work with a dedicated sewing instructor to strengthen practical skills and gain hands-on experience. Participants learn to make traditional clothing such as kurta suruwaal and the Nepali dress cholo, while building confidence in their own abilities. More than a sewing class, this program creates pathways to self-employment and sustainable income generation. By investing in practical skills, we are helping women build greater financial security for themselves and their families.

Advancing Women's Literacy in Rural Nepal
In many rural communities across Nepal, women have had limited access to education. At No Limits Nepal, we are working to change that through free literacy classes offered at our Women’s Center. Many of the women who join this program left school early or never had the chance to attend at all. Through small-group literacy sessions, participants receive direct support in reading and writing in Nepali, along with guided handwriting practice and foundational learning materials. By building basic literacy skills, the program helps women grow in confidence, independence, and participation in daily life. These skills can open doors at home and in the community, from reading books and writing messages to better supporting their children’s learning. We are proud to walk alongside these women as they work toward goals that once felt out of reach.

Building Economic Independence
Launched through our Women’s Center, our micro-finance program helps women take meaningful steps toward economic independence. In a community where many families rely on subsistence farming and animal husbandry, even small amounts of financial support can create lasting change. The program began with an initial group of 10 women. Through this first round, nine women received goats to support livestock-based income, and one woman received support to open a small shop in the village. But this initiative is designed to go beyond a single batch of participants. By creating a local revolving fund within the Women’s Center, this program allows support to be recycled and expanded over time, reaching more women across the center’s membership. In this way, microfinance becomes more than short-term assistance. It becomes a community-led system for building livelihoods, strengthening confidence, and creating greater long-term stability for women and their families.
